ANNOUNCEMENTS

NOVEMBER 25, 2013 

- Reminder: School will be closed for Thanksgiving break this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: See everyone on Monday, December 2 and it will be an Odd day.
- Need community service hours?? Need extracurricular activities for college? Join ECO Club! We meet in the garden near K building after school on Mondays. We also meet during lunch every Thursday on Odd days in room J203. Everybody is welcome. For any questions ask Kimberly Castandea, Dayana Gonzalez or Ms. Rasha. 

- Have you brought your yearbook yet? Prices will increase from $50 to $60 on December 20th. Don’t miss out on your chance to relive and remember X-Scream Halloween, Spirit Week, Field Day, the One-Acts and many more events to come. Stop by Mr. Weiss’ room, J-219, with cash or checks or order online from www.yearbookforever.com. The 2014 yearbook promises to be the best one yet!

- Are you interested in animating? Then join the G-Star 3D Animation Club, this club will involve working with basic animation, modeling, etc. You must bring a flashdrive if you want to save your work. Anyone interested, please meet in K109 (Ms. Champagne) after school from 2:40 to 3:30pm every Tuesday. If you further questions contact Jordan Pearl or Shane Hartley. 

- National Honors Society is hosting this year’s annual food drive!! Bring your canned goods in and place them in your grade’s box in the office! There is a box for each grade, freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors. Let’s help those in need! The drive is over Friday, November 22nd. 

- Attention Artists: The yearbook needs your work! Paintings, drawings, photography: anything we can put on a scanner or take a picture of. See Mr. Weiss in J-219 with your submissions. The deadline is Friday, December 6th. 

- There will be a Debate Team meeting Monday after school and Thursday during lunch. We will be preparing for our first tournament. Everyone is welcome to join!! 

- Attention Artists: Want to have your work featured in the yearbook? Bring your original art, or photos of it, to room J219. Paintings, drawings, sculptures or photography are acceptable. No work on lined paper or light pencil drawings will be considered. See Trevor Johnson or Mr. Weiss with questions. 

- Don’t forget that First Priority Club will meet every Thursday after school until 3:30, in J213. See Ms. Para, Julissa Perez, or Daniela Pereira for more information. 

- Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors interested in dual enrollment for the spring term, please make an appointment with your guidance counselor.

 - Attention all attendee’s of this years homecoming!! Tickets from Pre-Sales will b delivered today during 5th block. If you do not receive your ticket please see Ms. O’Hara or Raymond Knudsen. Also, if you have been nominated for homecoming court you must have a ticket purchased to run by Friday! If you are not at homecoming, how could you run? See you there.

- EOC Algebra I retakes are around the corner. December 2nd – December 4th are EOC Algebra I retakes. Signs have posted around campus. Testing is in the media center. The media center will be closed December 2nd – December 4th so please plan accordingly. If you have any questions please see Ms. Seifer J202. 

- Beep Beep! Music Club next Tuesday! Beep Beep! If you wish to perform at Hilton Hotel come to Music Club in room J203 and come prepared with 2 songs. Any questions, please contact Ms. Rasha. Beep Beep – Marie and Marie out! 

- Attention artists, photographers, filmmakers, writers! The Scholastic Art Awards is now accepting student artwork for their regional and national art awards competition. The absolute deadline for submissions for artworks is Monday, December 16th. The deadline for written works is Monday, January 16th. Students will upload their digital images of their work in the following categories: architecture, comic art, design, digital art, drawing, fashion, photography, film, animation, mixed media … in other words any created visual artwork.  This is a limited list so check with any K building teacher for specific details. This is a lengthy process and you will need teacher assistance so don’t wait until the last minute.  You may also go to www.artandwriting.org or see the callboard in K building for more information.

- Attention all participants in this years’ Individual Events Competition a $40 fee is due Monday, November 25th. If you have any questions or concerns please see Ms. Carr or Mr. Edgecomb. 

- If you had paparazzi pictures taken at the Homecoming Dance, the Yearbook committee will be working on printing them out for you today. You can stop by room J219 to pick yours up or order a print for $2.

 - Juniors and Seniors – UCF will be here Friday, December 6th for a presentation. Please see Mrs. Sammarco to sign up. You will not be able to sign up the same day.
