PRESS RELEASE:
G-Star School of the Arts sets new enrollment record!

Palm Springs, FL (August 5, 2014) - The G-Star School of the Arts for Film, Animation and Performing Arts has garnered its largest enrollment in the school’s history for this coming school year.  “The School District has increased its marketing and the expanding charter school movement presented an opportunity for us to reexamine our own marketing,” says Greg Hauptner, the school’s Founder and CEO.  “We have so many unique programs here that we take for granted and haven’t told the public about.  We felt it was time to get the word out.”  Hauptner spoke of items such as G-Star is the only high school that produces a professional student produced Feature Film each year from script to screen to world premiere.  Every step of a true Hollywood feature film is followed.  It is written, directed, produced by and stars G-Star students.  The school has done this for 11 years.  Many high schools have theater acting and so does G-Star.  However, G-Star has had the top two actors in the Pathfinders Awards two out of the past three years – the best in Palm Beach County.  G-Star has the only “Acting for Camera” course.  “There’s a world of difference between the two, particularly when a close-up of your face is 12 feet high on a movie screen,” states Hauptner.  G-Star is the only high school located on the back lot of a major commercial movie studio, G-Star Studios, which the school owns.  It is here that many students work on major feature films, commercials and music videos with famous stars as Bob Dylan, Rod Stewart, Jimmy Buffett and Tiger Woods; and companies such as Rolex, Nike and EA Sports.  “We teach Hollywood Special Effects Makeup.  Our entire Special Visual Effects in 3-D Animation Course was developed at our school on site by the same film industry professionals who did the visual effects for Transformers, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Captain America.  No one else has ever done that,” continues Hauptner.  “The fact that we are an ‘A’ rated ‘High Performing Charter School’ with an academic program ranked in the top 1.2% of all high schools in the nation by the Washington Post makes us a truly unique school.”
