Scores Big in PB International Film Festival Student Showcase
Palm
Springs, FL (March 8, 2015) – The winners are in and G-Star School of the Arts
scores big! The Palm Beach International
Film Festival has long been noted as one of the Top Ten Film Festivals in
America. The Festival’s Student Showcase
of Films is the only state-wide film festival in Florida welcoming all high
schools to compete. This year there were
1,070 submissions in 11 high school categories in the film competition. First place in four of those categories were
won by G-Star School of the Arts students.
Only one other high school in Jacksonville had two wins (there were no
other winners from Palm Beach County).
For the fifth year in a row, G-Star walked away with the number one
award of the festival: The Burt Reynolds Scholarship Award.

There
is one more category, “The People’s Choice Awards”, to be decided. The winner will be announced on March 26
during the Film Festival. The top eleven
high school feature/shorts, as scored by the judges, are eligible for online
voting, starting now through midnight on March 11. The feature short with the
most votes will receive the Audience Award at the Student Showcase of Films.
