JANUARY 29, 2014
- Attention – All ECO Club members there will be a mandatory meeting Tuesday during lunch – Dress to impress for our yearbook picture.

- This upcoming Tuesday, January 28, 2014. It is the first ever meeting of the G-Star Movie Club. Join us in the newly-renovated Screening Room on the northeast corner of Studio B for a screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s cerebral masterpiece Vertigo. It’s a movie starring Jimmy Stewart as a private eye who becomes dangerously obsessed with a mysterious woman. Recently voted the greatest film of all time in the 2012 Sight and Sound critics poll, this is a screening you do not want to miss.
- Attention X-Scream team. Our first meeting of the 2014 year will be held on January 29th in the Sound Stage. Please be there by 2:50 ready to go. If you would like to become involved in X-Scream, please attend this meeting. Looking forward to seeing you there!!

- Get Animated with the Animation Club! Club meetings are held every Tuesday in K109 from 2:40pm to 3:30pm. Be sure to bring a hard drive or flash drive to save your work.

- First Priority will meet today and every Thursday in J213 after school until 3:45. Please see Mrs. Paro, Julissa Perez or Daniela Pereira for more information. Everyone is invited! See you there!

- Students! The February 15th deadline for ads in fast approaching. Buy your ads now because there is limited space! Prices start at $200 for a full page, $125 for a half page, $75 for a quarter page, and $50 for an eighth page. Contact Mr. Weiss in J219 or Christopher Plychronnpoulos for more details.

- Students, do you want to be featured in the yearbook? Submit a picture of you and your pet to room J219 or send one to sweiss@gstarschool.org by February 1st to be included. See Mr. Weis or Meaghan Wood if you have any questions.

- Attention all Travel Club members! If you are going on the Costa Rica trip with Ms. Fuller please report to the media center on Monday, January 27th during lunch for a club picture. Thank you!!

- Attention all G-Star students: In order to buy a ticket for the Talent Show, you must have a TLE form filled out by your 5th and 7th block teachers. TLE forms are on the Student Government board in front of J107. Tickets go on sale on Thursday and Friday for a limited time – low price of $5! Ticket prices will increase to $8 next week. So fill out your TLE form and buy a ticket ASAP!               

- Seniors: If Mrs. Sammarco gave you a document requiring parent or guardian signature please bring it to her. Stop by her office if you need another copy.

- Attention Student Drivers! There will be a general meeting for all students who drive this Thursday, January 30th during the first half of lunch in the Soundstage. All student drivers are required to come to this meeting. Imortant information will be given on this day.

- Announcement: All student filmmakers! If you like to write, create characters, design new worlds and make movies then listen up. G-Star’s film department is looking for ideas for the 2014/2015 student film. We may be wrapping production for this year’s student film, but K Building Productions is wasting no time in gearing up for next year’s production.  We will begin with a “story” brainstorming session THIS FRIDAY, January 31st during lunch in the TV Studio. Project criteria and production timeline will be part of this meeting. A call for treatments will commence after this initial meeting. Once again, we will begin with a “story” brainstorming sessions this FRIDAY, January 31st during lunch in the TV Studio.

- Attention Seniors: Grad Bash has been changed to Friday, April 4. We had to change the date due to Universal overbooking the Saturday that we had originally picked. We will be leaving school at 2:00 and if you are not in school that day you will not be able to attend Grad Bash. Nothing else changes, the price remains the same. We do need a minimum number of seniors to attend in order to secure the buses. Each bus must have a minimum of 50 students. Each bus will be secured separately. Example: If we have 70 students sign up, only the first 50 will be able to attend. If we have 110 students sign up, only the first 100 students will be able to attend, etc. Payment of $155.00 for Grad Bash must be paid by March 7. There will be no late payments accepted after that date. Any questions please see Mrs. Newell or Mrs. Collins.

- Attention Seniors: Herff Jones will be here on Thursday, February 6th from 8am-12pm to measure for Caps and Gowns. They will also be accepting payments for class rings. Please sign up at the front desk if you need to be measured. Mrs. Newell will be sending the passes out on the morning of February 6th. This is the FINAL time that Herff Jones will be here to measure. If you miss this one, Mrs. Newell and Mrs. Collins will be guessing your height and cap size.
- Attention – Anyone looking for an opportunity to get involved in the theater department. The V-Day Showcase against domestic abuse will be holding auditions this Monday at lunch. Come ready for a cold reading. Student writers are encouraged to submit short pieces as well. See Kayla Brosseau or a thespian officer for more details.
