G-Star School of the Arts follows the Palm Beach County School District Procedures for school closings due to inclement weather.  If the district schools are closed G-Star School of the Arts is closed. Please listen to your local news station or radio station for updates. You may also find information on palmbeachschools.org and our blog.

Announcements 8/28/15

 PSAT signups have begun! 10th graders are automatically registered. Any 11th grader can register in the testing office J-202. 11th graders must take the test to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship.The deadline is October 2nd. PSAT test is on Wednesday, October 14th.

Welcome back students! The G.S.A.  will hold its first meeting of the year after school on Tuesday, September 1st in room J-102. For more information please contact Mr. Weiss or Ms. Mohi.

Today was the last day for schedule change requests. The guidance department will continue to process requests as long as they were turned in by  the end of the school day on 8/28/15.

Second star to the right and straight on ‘til A-104! Disney Club will meet during the first half of lunch starting Wednesday, September 2nd in Mr. Jacob’s room, A-104. We will talk about all things Disney and discuss upcoming events. See ya real soon!

G-Shorts Production Team applications are available from Ms. Tieche and Mr. McClory in the K building. There is a brief G-Shorts meeting in K-104 the first few minutes during lunch and again after school. Please only attend 1 meeting. Also only one member of each team needs to attend but all are welcome.

Attention students and faculty. Yearbook sales have officially started. The starting price is $50. Make sure to buy them early before the price rises on October 24th. Order your book online or at yearbook headquarters, Mr. Weiss’s new room, A-109.

Seniors: Want that special thing to really personalize your yearbook? Make sure to order an ad. There is limited space, so make sure to order yours before there’s no more space. Prices range from $200 for a full page to $50 for a business card-sized ad. Stop by yearbook headquarters in A-109 for more information.

Announcements 8/22/15


·         Hello G-Star students! Thespian picnic on Saturday, August 22nd from 1 to 4pm. Raffles, theatre games, and much more. Permission slips are on the callboard in H building, they are due by Friday with your five dollars. The picnic will be held in the courtyard in front of H building.

 

·         Students, the option to request a schedule change is now available. Requests must be submitted through the online form on the G-Star website and can be found under Academics. Students who complete paper requests to meet with guidance must complete the online form as paper requests will not be honored.

 

·         Sign up for One Acts! The signup sheet to audition is on H buildings callboard. Auditions are after school at 3 pm in Mrs. Levy’s classroom. You will need a one minute contemporary monologue. Please come dressed in audition attire. Hope to see you there!

·         Attention students in 11th and 12th grade. The time has arrived. It is Prom time. If you are interested in joining Prom Committee, there will be a meeting next Tuesday the 25th, the first part of lunch. Please meet in building I at 11:05. ·         There was a meeting for all student government officers on Wednesday, August 26th in room A-103 during lunch. Please see Ms. Mohi or Mrs. Klein for more information.

Welcome Back G-Star School of the Arts Students!
Important information you will need for the first day of school
School begins at 7:30 but if you are walking or driving you should plan on arriving by 7:00 for the first several days.
Dismissal time is 2:40.
The first day is an odd day so you will attend odd Blocks 1, 3, 5, and 7.
The rest of the week will follow the normal pattern Tuesday even (2, 4, 6, 7), Wednesday odd, Thursday even, and Friday odd.
Please review the updated dress code policy on-line in the student handbook.
The only supplies you will need for the first two days are a pen, pencil, and a notebook with paper.
You will receive your schedule in your first block class. Your first block will be listed by your last name alphabetically on yellow posters posted around the campus. If you have any questions please look for a G-Star teacher or administrator and they will help you. Maps are available in the front office.
