OPEN HOUSE & TOUR THIS SUNDAY AT 2 PM!

G-Star School of the Arts is having an OPEN HOUSE & TOUR on SUNDAY, AUGUST 2^nd at 2 PM for students who wish to enroll this coming school year.  Unlike other arts schools or magnet schools, G-Star has a continuous admissions process all year.  Students can enter G-Star anytime if they qualify and classes are available.  Why is G-Star different?  Other arts schools and magnet programs require 8^th grade students to make a decision to enter and stay in a program in high school for the entire four years.  For instance, if a student enters a medical magnet program they must remain in that program even if they change their mind.  It is the same with high school arts programs -  if you enter in a high school arts program for dance, you cannot change to an acting program in that school even if the student discovers in their second or third year that they want to act rather than dance.  This is why those schools have a deadline date for acceptance into their programs – and this is why G-Star accepts students continuously all year.  At G-Star we have no auditions and no deadline date for acceptance because we ENCOURAGE our students to try different programs and disciplines.  We find that the majority of our students change their minds as they go through high school to find what really their passion is – and we train them as they switch to that possible career path.  An example would be a student who enrolls in the 9^th grade and wants to be an actor in front of the camera; and then finds out in the 10^th or 11^th grade that animation is their passion (or vice versa).  It happens all the time.  At G-Star we focus on our student’s GROWTH on their journey to find who they want to become.  We never place a student in a path with no way out to explore their innermost dreams, aspirations and desires in a career that they would excel in.  So please let any friend, neighbor or acquaintance you know that wishes to be guided through a JOURNEY to develop their CHARACTER and PASSION to join us this Sunday for our Open House and Tour.  Thank you so much!
