It’s official…

G-Star School of the Arts is the ONLY “A” RATED CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL IN PALM BEACH COUNTY!  We also have one of the top graduation rates in the State.   G-Star enrolls students of all academic levels; and we have the finest educational system in the County that transforms students into stellar academic success.   In our first quarter this school year, 44% of our students had a 3.5 GPA or above and 22% of our students had a 4.0 GPA or above.  We wish to thank all of our incredible staff, students and parents for their faith in the school.  Have a wonderful holiday season!

*Please note that exams begin at 7:30am. Monday, December 16th and Tuesday, December 17th will be a full school day and Wednesday, December 18th through Friday, December 20th are half days. School late arrival and early dismissal procedures are to be followed otherwise students are expected to be on campus during school hours. G-Star Students Excel!
44% of all students have a 3.5 GPA or above.
22% of all students have a 4.0 GPA or above.
These results are from the first quarter and show a 3% improvement in 3.5 GPA and a 1% improvement in 4.0 GPA over the 2012-2013 school year.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

DECEMBER 9, 2013 

- Seniors, the application for Bright Futures is open. Please check your email from Mrs. Sammarco for the website to apply or see her for any help or questions.
- Have you brought your yearbook yet? Prices will increase from $50 to $60 on December 20th. Don’t miss out on your chance to relive and remember X-Scream Halloween, Spirit Week, Field Day, the One-Acts and many more events to come. Stop by Mr. Weiss’ room, J-219, with cash or checks or order online from www.yearbookforever.com. The 2014 yearbook promises to be the best one yet! 

- Attention students currently parking in the YMCA across the street. The YMCA announces that they will begin towing away cars that do not belong there. 

- National Honors Society Toy Drive Volunteers – Please meet in room J210 (Ms. Borden) at lunch. 

-  Music Club Members please meet in Ms. Rasha’s room – J203 for an important meeting at lunch on Monday, December 9. 

- I.E.’s was incredible!! Theatre Troop 6621 received 27 Superiors, 8 Excellents, and 3 Goods. Four students also received Critic’s Choice: Kayla Fainer for Solo Musical, Enette Fremont and Kyle Douglas for Duet Scene and Arden Jurskis for Playwriting. Plus, a $1,000 scholarship was awarded for Costume Construction to Kayla Brosseau. Congratulations to everyone involved!! 

- Attentions Seniors!! If you are interested in participating in this year’s Holiday Show, come to the meeting Tuesday in the Black Box during the first half of lunch. This meeting is mandatory if you want to be part of the show! 

- There will be an informational meeting on Thursday, December 12th at 6:00pm for those interested in going to Costa Rica 2015 tour with Mr. Martinez and Mr. Adams. The meeting will be in room A108 in building A. If you have any questions please see Mr. Adams or Mr. Martinez. Prices for the tour will soon be increasing. 
 
- There will be a lunch meeting of First Priority today, December 9th from 11:00-11:30 am J213. We will be planning our holiday party, which will be Thursday, December 12th after school. All are welcome to attend Monday at lunch or Thursday after school. See Ms. Paro for more information. 

- Attention US History Students! You must attend required lunch tutoring once a week – it is for a grade. See you US teacher for any questions. 

- Juniors and Seniors – The Art Institute will be here this Friday. Please see Mrs. Sammarco by Thursday to sign up. Students are not able to sign up the same day.
